Elevating E-commerce with AR Makeup Try-on
Overview
MeituGenius, part of Meitu, is a SaaS provider of AI and AR makeup try-on technology.
It offers high-fidelity virtual try-on for makeup, hair dye, contact lenses, and accessories. Using AI, it provides personalized beauty recommendations.

The MeituGenius app, API and SDK were introduced into the beauty industry, enabling easy integration into e-commerce platforms for one-stop try-on and purchases.
Amid COVID, MeituGenius emerged as a sought-after solution in the beauty industry, enabling safe and convenient home-based beauty product experiences.
My role at Meitu included collaborating on customer experiences with brands like Gucci Beauty, DFS, and Watsons.

🔍Problem
Throughout our journey, we partnered with diverse brands to seamlessly integrate MeituGenius into their customer experiences.
Clients highlighted two key challenges:
- the declining use of in-store testers due to hygiene concerns, and
- a significant portion of customers having limited digital familiarity.
💡Outcome
In response, we meticulously designed intuitive user journeys that catered to this diverse user base.
